Installing the device drivers To install the device driver, follow the instructions that correspond to your operating system. Installing the device driver for Windows 98 1. Download and extract USBCDRW-W98.ZIP to a blank floppy diskette and label the diskette as "IBM USB Portable CD-RW Drive Option Diskette". 2. After you have connected the CD-RW drive in your computer, turn on your computer if it is not already on. A popup window will open. 3. In the New Hardware wizard for IBM USB Portable CD-RW Drive window, click Next. 4. Select the Search for the best driver for your device check box. 5. Insert the IBM USB Portable CD-RW Drive Option diskette into your diskette drive. 5. Select the diskette drive check box. 6. Click Next twice. 7. Click Finish to complete the device driver installation. You can now use the CD-RW drive with Windows 98. Installing the device driver for Windows Me, Windows 2000, and Windows XP The USB device driver is included in Windows Me, Windows 2000, and Windows XP operating systems. When this drive is connected, Windows will automatically install the appropriate device driver and the drive will be ready to be used. You do not have to perform any special installation or un-installation.
