Only the following Machine Types and Models are supported: - ThinkPad i Series 1400: Type 2621 - 422, 429, 442, 482, 483, 486, 489, 49x, 4Ex, 4Fx, 4Gx, - ThinkPad i Series 1500: Type 2651 - 542, 549, 54G, 562, 569, 56G, 592, 5FF Released Versions ----------------- Version 1.00 Initial release Version 1.01 A problem fix Summary of Changes ------------------ Key: Diskette Version (for example, 1.00 means Version 1.00) (New) New Function or Enhancement (Fix) Correction to existing function <1.00> - (New) Support for ThinkPad i Series 1400 Model 422/442/482/492 ThinkPad i Series 1500 Model 542/562/592 <1.01> - (LCD Utility) Change ID of Sanyo 12.1" TFT from "B" to "3". Previous version of CE Utility didn't support correct LCD ID. Installation Guide ------------------ Power on the computer with this diskette in the diskette drive. After the systems starts up, the following message should appear: 1. LCD Panel ID Utility 2. Thermal Senser Utility 3. VPD Data Utility 4. License message You can only test a single item at a time. Once that item has been tested, you must restart the computer to test another item. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Implementation Limitation: - Diskette can not write protected. Note: How to Input data for VPD Utility 1. Build ID(only 4th to 6th byte) First you need to get the BIOS version No. 1-1. Power on the system. 1-2. When the message "Press F1 for IBM BIOS setup Utility" appears at the bottom right hand corner, press the "F1" key. 1-3. Wait for "BIOS Utility" screen appears. 1-4. Select "System Information". 1-5. BIOS version is displayed at "System BIOS Version" line. 1-6. Refer to the "System Program Information" section in the BIOS readme file to get the BIOS Build ID which corresponds to the BIOS version. 1-7. Enter the 4th to 6th digit for the build ID. e.g. If the BIOS Build ID is "KRB123WW", just enter three digit ID No. as below: 123 2. Box Serial Number(14 bytes) e.g. If the barcode label at the bottom of notebook shows "TYPE 2621-422 S/N AA-D9PYR", just enter as below; 2621422AAD9PYR You don't need to enter "TYPE", "S/N", dashes, or spaces 3. Plannar Serial Number(17 bytes) If the barcode label under the memory module says like ---------------------- 11S5543C01041AADBVYL IBM FRU P/N: 12H2153 ---------------------- enter as below; 12H2153041AADBVY1 where "12H2153" comes from IBM FRU P/N and "041AADBVYL" comes from last 10 digit of first line.
