Abstract:A small number of PC365 6589 systems equipped with an IBM 4.2 GB IDE hard drive may experience an intermittent 1762 POST error. The likelihood of experiencing this 1762 error is very low. One can recover from the 1762 error by powering off the computer and powering back on. The 1762 error occurs approximately once every 600 times the system is turned on. Condition:Use this program only if the following condition is met: If you are using a PC365 6589 equipped with an IBM 4.2 GB IDE hard drive with P/N 73H7681 and FRU 76H5820 Only use this program if the above condition is met))) Function:This program updates the hard drive to a newer level of microcode which fixes the intermittent 1762 error. There is no potential for performance degradation, data loss or data corruptiondue to the application of this program. Installation Instructions:1. Shutdown your operating system. 2. Power off the PC. 3. Insert the diskette created by 42gbfix.exe and turn on the PC. 4. Wait until the status bar has reached 100 Percent processed. 5. Remove the diskette and power off the PC. 6. Reboot for the changes to take effect.
