1. Installation For Windows 98 by INF File When a Windows 9x PC boots for the first time after the modem PCI adapter card is installed, you will be prompted to locate the disk and directory containing the installation kit. If the operating system determines that the installation kit matches the Plug and Play ID of the hardware, you can finish the installation by selecting the Finish button. Windows continues with automated Plug and Play installation and several informative screens are displayed with the status of the component installation. On some service releases of Windows 95, the path to the driver files is requested once again, even though the user has specified this once already. After the installation is complete, the country of operation of the modem must be specified. If this is not specified in the INF file, the modem driver will select the Windows country as specified in the Control Panel Regional Settings applet. In either case the modem driver requires a country of operation before the modem can be used. The user may run the Control Panel Country Selection applet at a later time to change this country.
