The File QQ9Z01USA.EXE is a self extracting file for the V.90 PCI Modem using Microsoft XP Home and XP Pro. This file uses the InstallShield Wizard. The InstallShield Wizard(TM) will help install the V90 56K PCI Modem for Microsoft XP Home and XP Pro on your computer. Execute the file and follow the on screen direction as prompted. Additional install information: 1. Installation for Windows XP A) INF Install Method 1) Power off the system. Insert the modem into an unoccupied PCI slot and turn on the system. 2) WinXP will detect the hardware upon reboot, find the in-build driver and install it without prompting for installation path. 3) Unzip the driver package into its own directory. 4) From control panel, select the modem device, select driver, then update driver. 5) Select "Install from a list or a specific location". 6) Select "Don't search, I will choose the driver", then click the "Have disk" button. 7) Point to where you unzipped the driver files in step 3 above. 8) The system will install your selected driver over the in-build driver. 9) If your selected driver is older than the in-build driver, or if it is not signed, you will get warnings along the way, with an option to ignore. B) Setup.exe Method 1) Power off the system. Insert the modem into an unoccupied PCI slot and turn on the system. 2) WinXP will detect the hardware upon reboot, find the in-build driver and install it without prompting for installation path. 3) Unzip the driver package into its own directory. 4) Run SETUP.EXE from the installation kit. 5) As long as the driver being installed is signed and is newer than the in-build driver, setup will install it successfully with no user interventions, otherwise you will get warnings along the way, with an option to ignore. C) Steps to uninstall the modem: 1) During the installation of the device when setup.exe was run, setup.exe created an entry in the Add/Remove applet of Control Panel that is used to uninstall the device. The display name in the applet is based on the "Friendly Name" defined in the INF of the device that was just installed. 2) Highlight the entry and click the "Add/Remove" button to uninstall the modem.
