IBM Personal Computer Modems QuickLink Message Center Fix This is a fix to correct the "Modem not ready" and Caller-ID bugs with the Smith-Micro Quicklink Message Center software. If you would like to apply this fix, please follow these instructions: Print a copy of these instructions for reference. Download the appropriate file: For Windows 3.1x: Download UPGRAD16.EXE and save it to a temporary directory (e.g. C:\TEMP). For Windows 95: Download UPGRAD32.EXE and save it to a temporary directory (e.g. C:\TEMP). Run the file you just downloaded: For Windows 3.1x, from the program manager: select FILE, RUN, type C:\TEMP\UPGRAD16 (note: if you saved the download file under a different directory, substitute the full path for C:\TEMP), click on OK. Follow the on-screen instructions. For Windows 95: select START, RUN, type C:\TEMP\UPGRAD32 (note: if you saved the download file under a different directory, substitute the full path for C:\TEMP), click on OK. Follow the on-screen instructions. IMPORTANT NOTES: If you try to apply this fix and receive the message "No Smith Micro product was found that is compatible with the QuickLink MessageCenter III Upgrade" you already have code that has incorporated this update and don't need to apply this fix. Installing this upgrade will prevent you from accessing your old incoming fax and voice messages. The README file on your disk will contain instructions on how to access your previous voice and fax messages. The readme file is accessible from the QuickLink Message Center program group or start menu.
