The 5.40.11.0000 driver is fully Microsoft certified with official Digital Signature CAT file. 1.1 Limitations ----------------- There is no known limitation. Note that the Adapter Failover ( Teaming ) software is only applicable to the Server Adapters. 2.0 Change History ____________________ This new v5.0 sw release replaces the previous v4.0 or older sw release. New enhancements + features include IEEE 802.3p ( or 802.3ad ) support for link aggregation, improved failover events messaging, and new hardware IDs for all latest IBM / Intel 82550-based NICs and LOMs. Version history: v5.0 E100BNT5.SYS 5.40.11.0000 v4.0 E100BNT5.SYS 5.00.67.0000 v3.72 IBMFENT5.SYS 4.02.35.0000 Note: Starting with v4.0 sw release, IBM 10/100 Ethernet Adapters sw shares the same drivers names with the Intel retail sw for Intel PRO/100 Adapters family. 3.0 Build and Installation Instructions _________________________________________ 1) Make sure the adapter is physically installed in your server or work station prior to installing the driver software. 2) Verify that your system is properly installed with Windows 2000 OS. 3) After logging in to W2K, W2K will detect the adapter with the W2K Wizard window. Click Next. 4) Select Search, then click Next. 5) In the Locate Driver window, select the floppy drive box or CD-ROM if you are using the sw CD-ROM, then click Next. 6) Click Next. 7) Click OK to start the drivers copying and installing process. 8) Click Finish. 9) Install PROSet2 Adapter Properties Utility program 10) Note: If you are installing multiple adapters and want to set up Failover Team, go to PROSet2, Right Click on one of the adapters and follow the steps there to create a Team. With W2K, PROSet2 is not installed automatically with Drivers sw install. To install PROSet 2, go to the PROset2 directory and run Setup.exe. You MUST install PROSet 2 for utilizing the full server advanced features and services such as Teaming, VLAN .etc. 4.0 Configuration Information _______________________________ After following 3.0 above, your adapter should be all set to go.
