This package will update the IBM Data Transfer program on
your IBM(R) computer. This update requires approximately 7MB
of space on your hard disk (drive C).

The IBM data transfer program enables you to transfer settings
and data from one computer to another computer. The IBM data
transfer program is useful if you want to set up a new computer
with the familiar settings and critical data stored on your old
computer. This convenient wizard interface helps you through the
transfer process. You may select to transfer Desktop settings,
Network settings, or the contents of specific folders. You may
also select how you want to transfer data, such as by removable
disk or across a local area network.

This update package is intended for IBM IntelliStation,
IBM NetVista, IBM PC300, and IBM ThinkPad systems that come with
the IBM data transfer software.

Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation.


Downloading the update
----------------------
1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save
   the downloaded file.


Installing the update
---------------------
1.  Click Start, select Find or Search, then click Files or Folders.
2.  Type dxfer13a.exe in the search field, then click Find Now.
    This will locate the dxfer13a.exe file you just downloaded. 
3.  Double-click the icon for dxfer13a.exe.
4.  Click Next. Read the license agreement.
5.  Click I accept the terms in the license agreement.
6.  Click Next.
7.  Ensure that "Save files in folder" is set to
    C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\DXFER13A.
8.  Click Next.
9.  If installing IBM data transfer on the comuter you wish to
    transfer data from (source), click Previous computer. If
    installing IBM data transfer on the computer you wish to
    transfer data to (destination), click New computer.
10. Click Next. You will be asked "How would you like to install
    IBM Data Transfer Program on the new computer?"
11. Click "I already have the IBM Data Transfer program installed,
    or I will download the program to the new computer. If you
    have set up an internet connection on your new computer, you
    can download the program from the IBM website."
12. Click Next. You will be asked to select a folder where Setup
    will install files.
13. Click Next. You will be asked to select a program folder.
14. Click Next. You will be told "The InstallShield Wizard has
    successfully installed IBM Data Transfer. Click Finish to exit
    the wizard."
15. If you do not wish to run the IBM Data Transfer prorgam
    immediately, remove the check mark from "Start IBM Data Transfer
    now."
16. Click Finish.
