(Note) To fix this problem, the power management function of video, "Dual Frequency Graphics Technology", is always disabled. [New functions or enhancements] Nothing. [Problem fixes] - If the external display is attached and the LCD display panel is closed and opened, the screen is enabled on the external display only. - (Windows 2000 only) The remote function in Tivoli application shows blank screen on the Windows logon screen. - On the IBM T210 monitor, a screen is shrunk and displayed in the center with 2048 x 1536 screen resolution. - The Mystify screen saver does not work with 2048 x 1536 screen resolution. - Some of screen resolutions and color depths can not be set with 2048 x 1536 screen resolution. - The ALTGr + i key combination does not work on the U.K. keyboard. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED [Windows XP] 1. Start Windows XP. 2. Click Start and then click Control Panel. 3. Click Appearance and Themes. 4. Click the Display icon. 5. Click the Settings tab. 6. Click the Advanced button. 7. Click the Adapter tab. 8. Click the Properties button. 9. Click the Driver tab. The version number will be displayed. [Windows 2000] 1. Start Windows 2000. 2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel. 3. Double-click the Display icon. 4. Select the Settings tab. 5. Click the Advanced button. 6. Select the "Intel(R) Graphics Technology" tab. The graphics driver version should be listed on this screen. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Notes: (For ThinkPad R51) Update the BIOS to version 1.07 or higher, prior to updating the display driver. (For all models) This program is language independent and can be used with any language system. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Notes: To determine if you should update the display driver, refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. There are following ways for installation. (A) Automatic install with ThinkPad Software Installer (B) Manual install (C) Unattended Install (A) Automatic Install Use the ThinkPad Software Installer version 3.01.0503 or higher. The ThinkPad Software Installer will check both installed drivers or ThinkPad software on your ThinkPad and internet Web site. Then download and install the updated drivers or ThinkPad software automatically. Refer to the ThinkPad Software Installer package for details. (B) Manual Install Refer to the Manual Install section. (Downloading files) 1. Click once on the underlined file name with the left mouse button. Once this is done, a pop-up window will appear. 2. In this pop-up window, choose (using the left mouse button) the directory you would like to download the file to and click the "Save" button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete without your assistance. 3. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully. 4. After being downloaded, the file will need to be extracted. (Extracting files) 5. Locate the directory where the file was downloaded. 6. Locate the file that was just downloaded and double click it using the left mouse button. 7. The file will begin to extract in the directory where the downloaded file is located. (Installing files) 8. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges. 9. Open an Explorer and locate the directory where the files were extracted. 10. Double-click SETUP file. 11. Follow the instructions on the screen. 12.
