Installation Guide ------------------ INSTALL: (For DOS) 1. Start DOS. 2. Type [Program Path]\UINSTALL and press Enter. 3. Press Enter again. 4. Select "Install DOS ThinkPad Configuration" at the Installation Options screen; then follow the instructions on the screen. (For DOS screen under Windows NT) Method 1 (Recommendation): 1. Install ThinkPad Configuration Package for Windows NT, by selecting "ThinkPad Configuration for DOS" installation option. Refer to the installation guide of the package. Method 2: 1. Install ThinkPad Configuration Package for Windows NT. Refer to the installation guide of the package. 2. Logon to Windows NT with a UserID of Administrator and start MS-DOS prompt from "Start" menu. 3. Follow the same instruction as above for DOS. (Note) Since UINSTALL is designed for pure DOS, the installation may not be completed successfully depending on environments. The method 1 is recommended. (For DOS screen under Windows 2000/XP) Method 1 (Recommendation): 1. Install ThinkPad Configuration Package for Windows 95/98/98 SE/Me/2000/XP, by selecting "ThinkPad Configuration for DOS" installation option. Refer to the installation guide of the package. If ThinkPad Configuration for OS/2 program is not supported for your system, you need to install System Management device driver first. a) Open the System Setup folder in the OS/2 System folder. b) Select Device Driver Install and click the Install... button. c) Click ThinkPad System Management Device Driver. Then click OK. 3. Open OS/2 prompt. 4. Type [Program Path]\INSTUTD2 and press Enter. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. HOW TO DETERMINE WHAT VERSION IS INSTALLED: 1. Open DOS screen. 2. Execute PS2 ?. 3. The version will be displayed next to 'Utility for DOS' on the second line.
