What This Package Does ----------------------- The following ThinkPad computers are supported: - ThinkPad R60, R60e, R61, R61e, R61i - ThinkPad T60, T60p, T61, T61p - ThinkPad X60, X60s, X60 Tablet - ThinkPad X61, X61s, X61 Tablet - ThinkPad Z61e, Z61m, Z61p, Z61t - ThinkPad Reserve Edition Refer to marketing materials to find out what ThinkPad models support which Operating Systems. If you use the preload environment, you do not need this package. This package is required when you install Windows OS without the preload image. Before you install the monitor INF file, the display driver needs to be installed. To determine if you should update this driver, refer to the Summary of Changes section. To update this driver, refer to the Installation Guide section. Extract this package to your hard drive. The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MONITOR 2. Right-click on the desktop and select Personalize. 3. Select Display Settings. 4. Click Advanced Settings. 5. Select the Monitor tab. 6. Click Properties. 7. Click Continue. 8. Select the Driver tab then click Update Driver. 9. Select Browse my computer for driver software. 10. Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer. 11. Click Have Disk. 12. Specify path to this monitor INF then click Open. Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MONITOR 13. Click OK. 14. Confirm the correct display type, then click Next. 15. Windows has finished installing. Click Close. 16. Click Close button for Display Propertries. 17. Click OK in the Monitor tab. 18. Click OK in the Display Settings. Windows XP: 1. Extract this package to your hard drive. 2. Right-click the desktop and select Properties from the pop up menu. 3. Select the Settings tab. 4. Click the Advanced button. 5. Select the Monitor tab. 6. Select "Plug and Play Monitor" from monitor type list. 7. Click the Properties button. 8. Select the Driver tab and click the Update Driver button. 9. "Hardware Update Wizard" starts. Select "No, not this time " for Windows Update connection and click the Next button. 10. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click the Next button. 11. Select "Don't search, I will chose the driver to install" and click the Next button. 12. Click the "Have Disk" button. 13. Click the Browse button then specify location directory and select TPLCD.INF. Example C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MONITOR 14. Click OK button. 15. System will show ThinkPad Display. Click the Next button. System will copy ThinkPad Monitor INF file and color profile. 16. Click Finish button, then click Close button. 17. Select the Color Management tab. 18. Click the Add button. 19. Select TPFLX.ICM or TPLCD.ICM and click the Add button 20. Click OK button. 21. Close the Display Properties. Description for SILENT INSTALLATION for Windows XP: 1.Create or Add the following lines under the [Unattended] section in an Unattend.txt. OemPnPDriversPath="folder for ICC Color Profile" For example, OemPnPDriversPath="DRIVERS\OTHER" 2.Create the folder with the name of "folder for ICC Color Profile". For example, c:\DRIVERS\OTHER 3.Put all the files in the folder created above. Files are: TPFLX.ICM TPLCD.CAT TPLCD.ICM TPLCD.INF Windows 2000: 1. Extract this package to your hard drive. 2. Right-click the desktop and select Properties from the pop up menu. 3. Select the Settings tab. 4. Click the Advanced button. 5. Select the Monitor tab. 6. Select "Plug and Play Monitor" from monitor type list. 7. Click the Properties button. 8. Select the Driver tab and click Update Driver button, then "Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" starts. 9. Click the Next button. 10. Select "Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver" and click the Next button. 11. Click Have Disk button. 12. Click Browse button then specify location directory and select TPLCD.INF file. Example C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MONITOR 13. Click OK button. 14. Select ThinkPad Display that you use from the models list and click Next button. 15. Click Next button. System will copy monitor INF file and color profile. 16. Click Finish, then click Close. 17.
