DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED

 1. Windows XP:
      Click Start then click Control Panel. Click the System icon.
    Windows 2000:
      Click Start, click Settings, then click Control Panel. Click the
      System icon.
 2. Click Hardware tab and push Device Manager Button
 3. Double-click Sierra Wireless Modem Device
 4. Click Driver tab.
 5. Check the Driver Version.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Notes:
- To determine if you should update the Wireless WAN driver, refer to
  the "Summary of Changes" section.
- The following software must be updated when you install this package.
   - ThinkVantage Access Connections ver. 4.12 or higher
   - Hotkey Features for Windows 98/98 SE/Me/NT 4.0/2000/XP
     ver. 1.20.0508 or higher

  Methods to install this driver:
  (A) Automatic install with ThinkPad Software Installer
  (B) Manual install

(A) Automatic Install
    Use the ThinkPad Software Installer version 3.13.0507 or higher.

    The ThinkPad Software Installer will check both installed drivers
    or ThinkPad software on your ThinkPad and IBM Web site. Then
    download and install the updated drivers or ThinkPad software
    automatically.

    Refer to the ThinkPad Software Installer package for details.

(B) Manual Install
    Refer to the Manual Install section.

MANUAL INSTALL

 (Important) For Windows 2000, you need to uninstall previous driver
  if it is already installed. (Not required for XP)

 1. Start Windows XP/2000 and logon with administrative privileges.
 2. Extract this package to the hard drive.
 3. Start Explorer and open the folder where the this package was
    extracted. If you extracted the files to a different location,
    specify that location instead.
 4. Double-click \Driver\SETUP\MC5720AC.msi file.
 5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
 6. Restart the computer.
