Installation instructions ------------------------- Note: - To determine if you should update the utility programs, refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. INSTALL: 1. Start Windows Vista, XP, 2000 and logon with administrative privileges. 2. Extract this package onto the hard drive. 3. For Windows XP, 2000, click Start, then click Run... For Windows Vista, click Start, then click Start Search. 4. Type [Program Path]\SETUP, and click OK. Program Path is the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. Note: *1 From Version 1.30, package structure was re-organized. If you already installed "Utility package" for each operating system, please uninstall it first before you install this package. Then you need to install the following packages as well. - ThinkPad Configuration package - ThinkPad Battery MaxiMiser and Power Management Features package - ThinkPad Presentation Director *2 From Version 2.00, default installation folder name and modules to be completely uninstalled were changed. If you already installed previous version, you need to update all the following packages as well. - ThinkPad Configuration package - ThinkPad Battery MaxiMiser and Power Management Features package - ThinkPad Presentation Director *3 If you install a newer version after uninstalling the previous version, reboot the system after uninstallation. UNINSTALL: For Windows XP, 2000, uninstallation is supported by Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. For Windows Vista, uninstallation is supported by "Uninstall a program" of Programs and Features in the Control Panel. You have to logon with the user ID authorized as an administrator. Silent Installation Guide (for Unattended Installation support) --------------------------------------------------------------- Note: This is for system administrators' use only. When you type [Program Path]\SETUP in the above installation guide, add "-S -SMS" parameter to SETUP. (You need to type "[Program Path]\SETUP -S -SMS" in "Run...". ) HOW TO DETERMINE WHAT VERSION IS INSTALLED ------------------------------------------ 1. Start EasyEject Utility. The main screen will be displayed. 2. Select 'About EasyEject...' system menu. The version will be displayed.
