Create a temporary directory and extract this package onto the hard disk drive. 2. During system restart the panel Welcome to the Found New hardware Wizard appears. Click Next. 3. Select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended). Click Next. 4. Check Specify a location check box. Click Next. 5. Browse or type the directory to where the new driver is and click OK. 6. The wizard found a driver for the following device: Multimedia Audio Controller Click Next. 7. Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard click Finish. 8. If System Settings Change window appear, click Yes to restart the system. If System Settings Change window does not appear and you do not see the speaker icon on system tray, restart the system manually. Update install 1. Right click My Computer, then click Manage. Computer Management window will appear. Click Device Manager, then click Sound, video and game controllers. Double click Crystal WDM Audio Codec, click the Driver tab. 2. Click Update Driver. Update Device Driver Wizard will appear. Click Next. 3. Select Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can shoose a specific driver and click Next. 4. Click Have Disk. 5. Browse or type the directory to where the new driver is: Click OK, then click Next. 6. You'll see the following warning popup message: Installing this device driver is not recommended because Windows cannot verify that it is compatible with your hardware. If the driver is not compatible, your hardware will not work correctly and your computer might become unstable or stop working completely. Do you want to continue installing this driver? Click Yes. 7. The wizard is ready to install the driver for following hardware device: Crystal WDM Audio Codec Click Next. 8. If you are downgrading to old driver you'll see the following Confirm File Replace popup during the installation. : The target file exists and is newer than the source. Overwrite this file? Click Yes. If you are upgrading to newer driver you will not see above message. 9. Completing the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard Click Finish. 10. If System Settings Change window appear, click Yes to restart the system. If System Settings Change window does not appear and you do not see the speaker icon on system tray, restart the system manually. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- 1. Right click My Computer, click Manage, click Device Manager, then click Sound, Video and game controllers. 2. Confirm the Crystal devices: Crystal WDM Audio Codec. 3. Right click Crystal WDM Audio Codec and select Properties. 4. Select Driver tab. Click Driver details. 5.
