Installation instructions ------------------------- NOTE: To determine if you should update the audio driver, refer to the Summary of Changes section. INSTALL: 1. Start Windows XP and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator. 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, then click Run. 4. Type in C:\DRIVERS\WXP\AUDIO\SETUP in the Open box and click the OK button. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. 6. Restart the system for the driver to be effective. UNINSTALL: 1. Start Windows XP. 2. Click Start, select Control Panel, then click Add or Remove Programs. If you use Control Panel by Classic View, click Start, then click Control Panel. Double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon. 3. Select SoundMAX from the list, then click the Change/Remove button. 4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstallation. DETERMINING WHAT VERSION IS INSTALLED: 1. Start Windows XP. 2. Click Start, select Control Panel, point to Performance and Maintenance, then click System. If you use Control Panel by Classic View, click Start, then click Control Panel. Double-click the System icon. 3. Click the Hardware tab, then click the Device Manager button. 4. Double-click the Sound, video and game controllers section. 5. Double-click SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio. 6. Click the Driver tab. 7. The version is displayed.
