What This package Does ----------------------- This package provides the audio driver for Windows NT 4.0 users. The audio driver enables or updates the audio function of the following ThinkPad systems: - ThinkPad A20m, A20p, T20 To enable the audio driver, please refer to the "Installation Instructions" section. Released Version ---------------- Version PS2081a Initial release Version PS2084b A problem fix Summary of Changes ------------------ Where: Package version (for example, 1.00 means Version 1.00) (New) New function or enhancement (Fix) Correction to existing function - (New) Support for ThinkPad A20m, A20p, T20 - (Fix) After performing a recovery, the system may hang up at a blue screen on the first boot. (Shutdown service coexistence problem) Installation Instructions ------------------------- If there is an existent audio driver, please uninstall it before you install the new driver. How to uninstall the driver is written below. --- How to install --- 1. Extract the Audio Support to Windows NT. 2. Double-click setup.exe 3. Setup window will comeup, and follow the instructions. 4. When system asks the restart, please select restart now 5. If your system was installed older driver, you must shutdown the system. --- How to confirm the driver is installed --- 1. Double-click Multimedia in the Control panel. The Multimedia Properties window appears. 2. Click the Devices tab and click Audio Devices. If you see Audio for SoundFusion(TM), then select it. 3. Click the Properties button. 4. Check the status is as follows: Driver is enabled and functioning properly --- How to uninstall --- 1. Double-click the Multimedia in the Control panel. The Multimedia Properties window appears. 2. Click the Devices tab and click Audio Devices. Audio for SoundFusion(TM) will appear, then select it. 3. Click the Remove button. 4. Remove popup window will appear, click the Yes button. 5. When uninstallation program prompts you, restart Windows NT to make the change effective. --- How to confirm the driver is uninstalled --- 1. Double-click on the Multimedia in the Control panel. The Multimedia Properties window appears. 2. Click on the Devices tab and click Audio Devices. Audio for SoundFusion(TM) is NOT shown. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- 1. Double click My Computer -> View -> Folder Options -> Select View tab, then check Show all files. Select the file specified the step below. 2. Right click \WinNT\system32\drivers\cwcmmsys.sys and select Properties 3.
