In both cases, please confirm that the driver is correctly installed, by determining the installed driver version as described below. Installation Instructions with Crysetup Installer ------------------------------------------------- 1. Logged on to the system (In case of Windows 2000, as an administrator) 2. Click Start, Programs, then in case of: .Windows 98SE: MS-DOS Prompt. .Windows 2000: Accessories, Command Prompt. .Windows Me: Accessories, MS-DOS Prompt. 3. Type as follows, where the X: is the full path of the driver location. X:CRYSETUP -S For exsample: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\AUDIO\CRYSETUP -S 4. Press Enter. 5. The installation will be completed without any notification in about 1 minute. 6. The Windows Operating System CD, Service Pack CD, or its equivalent image might be required during installation, depending on your system environment. Determining which version is installed under Windows 2000 --------------------------------------------------------- 1. Right-click My Computer, click Manage, click Device Manager, then click Sound, Video and game controllers. 2. Confirm the Crystal devices: Crystal WDM Audio Codec. 3. Right-click Crystal WDM Audio Codec. 4. Select Properties. 5. Select Driver tab. 6. Click Driver details. 7. Check File version. 8. To distinguish version 4031a from 4031, do as follows: 9. Start, point to Search, then click Files or Folders. 10. Click Tools, point to Folder Options, then click View. 11. Check Show hidden files and folders and click OK. 12. Search for files or folders named oem*.inf. 13. Look in Local Harddrives (C:;D:...) and press Search Now. 14. Setup Information files named oem* (such as oem0) are listed as results. 15. If a file Modified on 12/18/2000 is listed, the driver version is 4031. 16. If a file Modified on 03/06/2001 is listed, the driver version is 4031a. Determining which version is installed under Windows 98SE/Me ------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Right-click My Computer, click Properties, click Device Manager, then click Sound, Video and game controllers. 2. Confirm the Crystal devices: Crystal WDM Audio Codec. 3. Right-click the Crystal WDM Audio Codec and select Properties. 4. Select Driver tab, then click Driver File details. Check File version.
