Drive Letter Access (DLA) for Microsoft Windows 98SE, Windows Me, 2000, and XP Version 5.2 build 09a Release 2 Installation Readme This package installs an updated version of the Drive Letter Access (DLA) software that comes with ThinkPad systems and Think recording drives. This update requires approximately 20MB of space on your hard drive. Drive Letter Access (DLA) allows you to drag and drop from your hard drive to your CD-RW drive, copying the file to a formatted CD-RW disc. Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation. Determine the version of DLA installed on your system ----------------------------------------------------- 1. Double-click My Computer. 2. Right-click on the icon for your recordable drive. 3. Click Properties. 4. Click the DLA tab. 5. Click Version information. The About DLA dialog will appear. Look for Version and Build. Downloading the update ---------------------- 1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page. 2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file. Installing the update --------------------- 1. Click Start, then click Run. 2. Type \dla52u.exe then click OK. 3. Follow all onscreen prompts and reboot your system when done. Non-Interactive install ---------------------- Silent install can be accomplished via the command line 'dla52u.exe -s -a /qn REBOOT=ReallySuppress' The installer will return 0 on suc cessful install, 1 if the same of higher version is present, and 1603 if no previouis version is present. Application Notes ------------------ - This package will only install on ThinkPad, Netvista, and ThinkCentre systems with a previous version of Drive-Letter Access - A reboot is required before DLA will function. In some cases, two reboots, one before and one after installation will occur in interactive mode. - This version is universal to Lenovo systems, and will install into the Sonic folder. This may differ from the previous location. - This version will not install over a newer version of DLA.
