What This Package Does
-----------------------
This package provides the Ethernet driver and the PROSET utility 
program for Windows NT users.

This release supports the following systems:

   - ThinkPad R32


To determine if you need to update the Ethernet driver, refer to
the "Summary of Changes" section below.

To update the Ethernet driver, refer to the "Installation 
instructions" section below.

Installation instructions
-------------------------
Update installation:
 1. Start Windows NT and log on with a user ID authorized as an 
    administrator.  
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 4. Double-click the Network icon.
 5. Click the Adapters tab.
 6. Select Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection
 7. Click the Update button.
 8. Specify the directory name with the full path name where you
    extracted the package in the step 2 in Insert Disk dialog box.
    (For example: C:\DRIVERS\WNT\ETHERNET\DRIVER)
 9. Click the Continue button.
10. Click the Close button.
11. Click Yes when prompted to restart the computer.


Clean install:
 1. Start Windows NT and log on with a user ID authorized as an 
    administrator.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 4. Double-click the Network icon.
 5. It displays Network Configuration dialog box if this is the
    first time to configure the Network. If not, go to step 21.

First Network Configuration
 6. Click the Yes button.
 7. Select Wired to the network.
 8. Click the Next button.
 9. Click the Select from list button.
10. Click the Have Disk button.
11. Specify the directory name with the full path name where you
    extracted the package in the step 2 in Insert Disk dialog box.
    (For example: C:\DRIVERS\WNT\ETHERNET)
12. Click the OK button.
13. Select Intel(R) PRO Adapter.
14. Click the OK button.
15. Click the Next button.
16. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
17. Follow the prompts for any Windows NT installation disks by
    typing the path to the directory that contains Windows NT files.
    (It is usually c:\i386 directory or Windows NT CD-ROM's x:\i386
    directory.)
18. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
19. Click the Finish button when the installation completes.
20. Click Yes when prompted to restart the computer.

Add  Ethernet to Network Configuration
21. Click the Adapters tab.
22. Click the Add button.
23. Click the Have Disk button.
24. Specify the directory name with the full path name where you
    extracted the package in the step 2 in Insert Disk dialog box.
    (For example: C:\DRIVERS\WNT\ETHERNET)
25. Click the OK button.
26. Select Intel(R) PRO Adapter.
27. Click the OK button.
28. Click the Close button.
29. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
30. Click Yes when prompted to restart the computer.


Determining which version is installed
--------------------------------------
 1. Start Windows NT.
 2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 3. Double-click Intel(R) PROSet II.
 4. Click the Network Driver tab.
 5. The File version will be displayed at Driver Information in the 
    message box.
