IBM ThinkPad 240 March 25, 2000 Fix program for IR configuration problem Version 1.00 ===================================================================== What This Program Does ----------------------- On IBM ThinkPad 240 systems preloaded with Microsoft Windows 95, a IR (InfraRed) port configuration problem may occur where the Intellisync application can not communicate through the IR port. This program fixes this issue. This release supports the following systems: - ThinkPad 240 preloaded with Windows 95 Released Version ---------------- Version 1.00 Initial release Installation Guide ------------------ 1. Start Windows 95. 2. Download the IR Configuration Fix Program by right-clicking on the file name and select "Save Target as..." or "Save Link as...". To make updating easier, save the file to your Windows Desktop. 3. Close all application programs and if connected to a Network, close all sessions and disconnect. 4. Find the file on your Windows desktop and double click with the left mouse button to start the patch process. 5. When the following message appear, click on 'Yes', "Warning: You must restart your computer before the new setting will take effect. Do you want to restart computer now?". 6. When the system restarts, the Update Device Driver Wizard should appear. Follow the prompts on the screen to configure the IR port. 7. If the Intellisync application has already been installed, after the system restarts, redo the Intellisync settings using the following instructions: 7-1 Run Connection Setup Manager of Intellisync 7-2 Open the 'Local Devices' folder 7-3 Select IBM ThinkPad Infrared 4M - COM Port 7-4 Click Properties 7-5 Click IR Wizard... 7-6 Follow the prompts on the screen to re-configure the IR port.
