The problem fix file is prepared for the following ThinkPad computers: - ThinkPad 390E - ThinkPad 390X The versions of CardWizard for Windows NT 4.0 which can be applicable by this package are as follows. - Version 4.10.13A1 for ThinkPad 390E - Version 4.10.13A for ThinkPad 390X To determine if you have to apply the problem fix file for CardWizard for Windows NT 4.0 or not, please refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. To install the problem fix file for CardWizard for Windows NT 4.0, please refer to the "Installation Guide" section. Installation Guide ------------------ (Note) To determine if you have to install the problem fix file for CardWizard for Windows NT 4.0 or not, please refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. Important - If your system is connected to a network, log off before starting installation. - You must install the Windows NT Service Pack before you install CardWizard. INSTALLATION FOR THE FIRST TIME: 1. Remove any PC Cards that are in the slot. 2. Start Windows NT 4.0 and logon with administrative privileges. 3. Copy all the CardWizard files to your hard disk from "Software Selections CD" or "ThinkPad Customization CD" came with the system. For ThinkPad 390E 3-1. Make the temporary directory, C:\DRIVERS\WNT\PCCARD. At a MS-DOS prompt, type the following and press Enter. MD C:\DRIVERS\WNT\PCCARD 3-2. Copy all the CardWizard files from "ThinkPad Customization CD" to the temporary directory in the hard disk. At the MS-DOS prompt, type the following and press Enter. COPY x:\DRIVERS\PCMCIANT\*.* C:\DRIVERS\WNT\PCCARD\*.* (x: the drive letter of CD-ROM drive) For ThinkPad 390X 3-1. Make the temporary directory, C:\DRIVERS\WNT\PCCARD. At a MS-DOS prompt, type the following and press Enter. MD C:\DRIVERS\WNT\PCCARD 3-2. Copy all the CardWizard files from "Software Selections CD" to the temporary directory in the hard disk. At the MS-DOS prompt, type the following and press Enter. COPY x:\DATA\WINNT\US\CARDWIZARD\*.* C:\DRIVERS\WNT\PCCARD\*.* (x: the drive letter of CD-ROM drive) 4. Extract this package to the hard disk. (The file(s) is automatically copied in "C:\DRIVERS\WNT\PCCARD" directory.) Note: An Overwrite Protection message may be displayed, then click on 'Yes'. 5. Click on 'Start' -> 'Run...'. 6. Type C:\DRIVERS\WNT\PCCARD\SETUP.EXE , and click on OK. Follow the instructions on the screen. 7. Restart the system. IF CARDWIZARD WAS ALREADY INSTALLED: If CardWizard was already installed in your system, first you need to uninstall CardWizard then re-install the CardWizard with "Problem Fix File for CardWizard for Windows NT 4.0". 1. Remove any PC Cards that are in the slot. 2. Start Windows NT 4.0 and logon with administrative privileges. 3. Click on 'Start' -> 'Programs' -> 'CardWizard for Windows NT'. 4. Click on "CardWizard for Windows NT Uninstallation". 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. 6. After restarting the system, follow "Installation for the first time" section for the installation.
