Installation Guide ------------------ (Note) To determine if you have to update the utility programs or not, please refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. (For initial installation) 1. Start Windows 2000, and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator. 2. Open Control Panel; then double-click on Add/Remove Hardware icon. 3. Click on Next; then select 'Add/Troubleshoot a device'. 4. Click on Next. 5. Select Unknown from the device list; then click on Next. 6. Click on Finish; then click on Next. 7. Select 'Search for a suitable driver for my device'; then click on Next. 8. Select 'Specify a location'; then click on Next. 9. Specify the directory name where you extracted this package; then click on OK. 10. Click on Next, then click on Finish. 11. Restart the system. (For update installation - when a previous version is already installed) 1. Start Windows 2000, and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator. 2. Open Control Panel; then double-click on System icon. 3. Select Hardware tab; then click on Device Manager button. 4. Click on View; then select Device by type. 5. Double-click on System devices. 6. Double-click on IBM PM Device. 7. Select Driver tab; then click on Update Driver button. 8. Click on Next. 9. Select 'Display a list of known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver' option. 10. Click on Next. 11. Click on Have Disk button. 12. Specify the directory name where you extracted this package; then click on OK. 13. Select IBM PM Device from Models list; then click on Next. 14. Click on Next. 15. Click on Finish. 16. Close the Wizard window. 17. Select Yes in the System Settings Change message box to restart the system. HOW TO DETERMINE WHAT VERSION IS INSTALLED Method 1) If you have the original extracted files, please find the DISKKU.VER file. You can see the version information using a text editor. Method 2) Please check the date stamp of the IBMPMDRV.SYS file under the SYSTEM32\DRIVERS following directory. For example, 1:00 means Version 1.00.
