IBM Rapid Access III USB keyboard device driver for Microsoft Windows 98, 98SE, Me, 2000,and XP version 2.0.0.6 This package contains an update to the device driver for the Rapid Access III Keyboard that comes with your IBM(R) computer. This update requires approximately 14MB of space on your hard disk (drive C). This update package is intended for IBM NetVista systems that come with a Rapid Access III keyboard and have the Microsoft Windows XP operating system preinstalled. Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation. Downloading the update ---------------------- 1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page. 2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file. Installing the update --------------------- For Windows 98, 98SE, and Me: 1. Uninstall any existing version of RAK keyboard installed on your system. a. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel. b. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. c. Select the IBM Rapid Access III keyboard. d. Click Add/Remove. e. Click Yes. f. When the uninstall has completed, select Restart my computer now, then click Finish. 2. Click Start, select Find, then click Files or Folders. 3. Type ge0z20us.exe in the search field, then click Find Now. This will locate the ge0z20us.exe file you just downloaded. 4. Double-click the icon for ge0z20us.exe. 5. Click Next. Read the license agreement. 6. Click I accept the terms in the license agreement. 7. Click Next. 8. Ensure that "Save files in folder" is set to C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\GE0Z20US. 9. Click Next. 10. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation. 11. Shutdown and restart your system when the installation is complete. For Windows 2000: 1. If you are using Windows 2000, make sure you log in as Administrator. If not, skip to the next step. 2. Uninstall any existing version of RAK keyboard installed on your system. a. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel. b. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. c. Select the IBM Rapid Access III keyboard. d. Click Change/Remove. e. Click Yes. f. When the uninstall has completed, select Restart my computer now, then click Finish. g. When the system restarts, make sure you log in as Administrator. 3. Click Start, select Search, then click For files or folders. 4. Type ge0z20us.exe in the search field, then click Search Now. This will locate the ge0z20us.exe file you just downloaded. 5. Double-click the icon for ge0z20us.exe. 6. Click Next. Read the license agreement. 7. Click I accept the terms in the license agreement. 8. Click Next. 9. Ensure that "Save files in folder" is set to C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\GE0Z20US. 10. Click Next. 11. For Windows XP NOTE: If you are using Microsoft Windows XP, ensure that the account you are logged in with has computer administrator access. Double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon. c. Select the IBM Rapid Access III keyboard. d. Click Change/Remove. e. Click Yes. f. When the uninstall has completed, select Restart my computer now, then click Finish. g. When the system restarts, make sure that you log in using an account with computer administrator access. 2. Click Start, click Search, then click All files and folders. 3. Type ge0z20us.exe in the "All or part of the file name " search field, then click Search. This will locate the ge0z20us.exe file you just downloaded. 4. Double-click the icon for ge0z20us.exe. 5. Click Next. Read the license agreement. 6. Click I accept the terms in the license agreement. 7. Click Next. 8. Ensure that "Save files in folder" is set to C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\GE0Z20US. 9. Click Next. 10.
