Utility to enable SiS 630 UDMA mode support for Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000 Version 1 Installation Readme This package installs an update to Microsoft Windows 2000 that will enable Windows 2000 UDMA mode support for the SiS 630 chipset that comes preinstalled in your IBM computer. This document refers to IBM NetVista 2179-xxx and 6643-xxx systems running Windows 2000. This update requires approximately 1 MB of space on your hard disk (drive C). Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation. Downloading the update ---------------------- 1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page. 2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file. Installing the update --------------------- 1. Click Start, highlight Find, then click Files and folders. 2. Type siside.exe in the search box, then click Find Now. This will locate the siside.exe file you just downloaded. 3. Double-click the icon for siside.exe. 4. Click Next. Read the license agreement. 5. Click I accept the terms in the license agreement. 6. Click Next. 7. Ensure that Save files in folder is set to C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\SISIDE. 8. Click Next. It may appear as if nothing is happening on your system. This is not the case. 9. Shutdown and restart your system for the changes to take affect.
