Instructions for LANStreamer Full Duplex Activation 03/25/97 ************************************************************************ The self-extracting diskette previously available under this name (NDIS2FDX.EXE) has been eliminated. All software previously available at BETA level has been superseded by production level microcode and device drivers available on the diskettes appropriate to each adapter. Testing is complete and Full Duplex operation is now supported. Check the README files on each diskette for installation and usage. MICROCODE UPDATE Obtain the STRFLASH.EXE file (Version 1.60 or newer) to update your Token-Ring adapter microcode to the latest level, which includes Full Duplex operation. Updates apply to the following products: IBM Auto LANStreamer MC 32 Adapter IBM Dual LANStreamer MC 32 Adapter IBM Auto LANStreamer PCI Adapter IBM Triple LANStreamer PCI Adapter DEVICE Drivers Each adapter diskette now contains the files needed to run Full Duplex. Obtain the diskettes from the same location as you obtained this file. Minimum versions required are: Auto LANStreamer MC 32 TRMALS1.EXE (V 2.01) & TRMALS2.EXE (V 2.01) Dual LANStreamer MC 32 TRMDLS.EXE (V 2.00) Auto LANStreamer PCI TRPALS1.EXE (V 1.04) & TRPALS4.EXE (V 1.03) Triple LANStreamer PCI TRPTLS.EXE (V 1.2) NOTE: When attached to an IBM 8272 NWays Token-Ring LAN Switch, the maximum transmit frame size must be 4540 bytes, in either Half Duplex or Full Duplex mode. For NDIS2 drivers (IBMMPC.OS2/DOS) use MPTS/LAPS: highlight the driver name, click on EDIT, then change MaxTxFrameSize; or, manually edit MaxTxFrameSize in PROTOCOL.INI section ibmmpc_nif. For NDIS3 drivers (STREAMER.xxx) click on Start, click on Settings, slide over to Control Panel, click on Network, click on Adapter, click on Properties, click on Advanced, adjust the MaxTxFrameSize parameter value. Remember to perform the above for each adapter port in use.
