Script to Disable Configuration changes from dive image 1.0 Overview: If drives are being changed or added into any fiber (Netfinity Fibre or FAStT Fibre)one the Code level should be up to 7.02 (or higher) and the Scripts attached here should be executed. (see Retain Tips) Also: If the Drive Firmware is to be updated there is information in this readme that should be known. 1.1 Overview about this code The following are script files necessary for IBM Netfinity Fibre Channel Storage Manager 7.02 These files change NVSRAM settings in the User Configurable Area of NVSRAM to clear the drive migration bit. Note: Do NOT use this script unless you have Code level 7.02 - 4.02 (or higher)SYMsm AND Firmware installed. If you do not have at least this level code, and firmware, and have run the DrMigrate.scr, then run NoMigrate.scr. DrMigrae.scr - This is the script will allow the hot addition of drives regardless of what information is on them and use the drives as unused capacity. Caution: you have not updated your code to 7.02 or higher do NOT execute this script. Recommended procedure is if drives are being added is upgrade code; run script then install drives. DrFlash.scr - In the near future, as a temporary fix for downloading drive firmware on KG drives using SYMft. This script will be needed to allow SYMft to perform the drive firmware download function. Note: This function has to be enabled in order for the Drive firmware update to work properly through the fiber controllers using Symft. To execute the script files, users must use the Netfinity Fibre Channel Storage Manager Script Tool Option from the Enterprise Mismanagement Tools Menu and choose Editor. You can then load the appropriate script file and run. Users may also modify individual NVSRAM Bytes for specific operating systems.. 1.2 Limitations: Code level SYMsm 7.02 or higher 1.3 Enhancements N/A 1.4 Level of Recommendations and Prerequisites for the Update:Code level SYMsm 7.02 or higher 1.5 Dependencies:Code level SYMsm 7.02 or higher 2.0 Change History This is the initial release of these scripts. -------------------- 6.0 WEB Sites and Support Phone Number ---------------- 6.1 IBM Support Web Site: http://www.pc.ibm.com/support 6.2 IBM Marketing Netfinity Web Site: http://www.pc.ibm.com/netfinity 6.3 If you have any questions about this update, or problems applying the update go to the following Help Center World Telephone Numbers URL: http://www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo/YAST-3P2QLY.html. 7.0 Trademarks and Notices ---------------------------- 7.1 If you use IBM trademarks, include the following lead-in: The following terms are trademarks of the IBM Corporation in the United States or other countries or both: Follow it with a list of the IBM trademarks that are in the README file.
