It will not affect any device drivers. 1.2 Limitations SSL is a commonly used security technology that uses encryption to provide secure TCP/IP communication. In order to comply with regulations regarding the export of products that contain cryptography, the IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter II is shipped without SSL support. In order to install SSL, the installation key file must be obtained and loaded into the Remote Supervisor Adapter II via the web interface. Once the file is loaded, SSL is installed and can be enabled or disabled as desired. If there is an error in loading the IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter II software, retry loading the software by repeating the instructions in section 3.0. 1.3 Enhancements - none 1.4. Level of Recommendations and Prerequisites for the update: - Multi-lun support is needed in order to mount more then one remote drive simultaneously. The linux kernel 2.4.20 and later have the appropriate multi-lun support, however this support needs to be enabled at kernel build time. Currently, only the SLES 8.0 SP3 distribution has multi-Lun support available and enabled. RedHat AS 3.0 has a 2.4.21 kernel, but does not have multi-lun support enabled by default. 1.5 Dependencies: - none 2.0 Change History ________________________ IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter II Update Version 1.01, T2E813A IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter II Update Version 1.01, T2E813A - Added SSH functionality. 3.0 Installing and Setup Instructions ______________________________________ This utility will update the IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter II software under the Windows Operating System. Appendix A: Package Specific Installation Instruction This update is packaged as a self-extracting PackageForTheWeb (PFTW) executable file. To use this update your TEMP environment variable must be set to a path with read/write access. You must be logged in as an administrator. The command-line syntax for PackageForTheWeb executable device driver update package is: Package.exe [-s] [-a [-s] | [-x directory] | [-?] ] [-s] This command installs an update silently and does not notify you if your files need to be over written in the %temp% directory. [-a] This command passes all subsequent commands to the install package. [-s] This second -s command installs the update silently and unattended. [-x directory] This command extracts the update files to a directory named directory. The PackageForTheWeb executable extracts itself to subdirectory in the %TEMP% directory. Extracted directories will be relative to that location. Typically you must specify an absolute directory. [-?] This command displays information about the command line switches. The command line swithces -a and -x are unattended. Other command line options such as display help (-?) might require that you to hit any key to continue. If Windows packages are run without any command line options, a GUI is displayed. This GUI offers all of the options that are available using the command line.
