Note 2: Please ensure the RSA II USB cable is connected securely between the RSA II and a USB port on the server. Failure to do so may cause the server to reboot if the OS watchdog is enabled on the RSA II. Note 3: Please ensure the RSA II is configured for "Other OS" and the USB cable mentioned in Note 2 is connected before attempting to install the RSA II Support Software or the installation may fail. See the RSA II Installation Guide and the RSA II User's Guide for detailed information. Note 4: The IBM Director application program must not be running on the server when the RSA II Support Software is being installed. Please refer to IBM Director documentation for instructions on how to stop the program. The following instructions show how to install the RSA II support software for NetWare onto your server. The latest software is available from IBM's software download web site listed in section 5 below. The RSA II support software for NetWare is typically installed or updated from diskette, so after creating the diskette, insert it into the server's floppy diskette drive, and from the NetWare system console enter the following command: LOAD A:\SETUP You may be prompted to answer a question if a previous installation of the RSA II support software already exists on the server. If you prefer a quiet installation or upgrade that accepts the setup defaults and does not issue prompts during the installation process then issue the setup command with a -Q or -q as shown below: LOAD A:\SETUP -q 4.0 Notes when using the RSA II web interface on a NetWare 6.5 server ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.1 If the server is remotely managed through the RSA II web interface and the remote administrator issues a "Shut down OS and then Restart Server" or "Shut down OS and then Power Off Server" the RSA II support software will set the "Server Power Down Options" to OFF so that the RSA II can restart or power down the server. This new "Server Power Down Options" setting is persistent after the server is restarted, but can be turned back on by issuing the following command at the NetWare system console: set server power down options = ON 4.2 The mouse cursor on the RSA II Remote Control application and the server's mouse cursor as viewed from the Remote Control application do not initially overlay each other because the NetWare X-Windows session only accepts relative mouse movement data. To synchronize the two mouse cursors use the synchronize function on the RSA II Remote Control session. They will remain in synch longer if mouse acceleration is disabled on the NetWare server. 5.0 WEB Sites and Support Phone Number --------------------------------------- 5.1 IBM Support Web Site: http://www.pc.ibm.com/support 5.2 IBM Marketing eServer xSeries Web Site: http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/eserver/xseries 5.3 If you have any questions about this update, or problems applying the update go to the following Help Center World Telephone Numbers URL: http://www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo/YAST-3P2QYL.html 6.0 Trademarks and Notices --------------------------- The following terms are trademarks of the Novell Corporation in the United States or other countries or both: Novell NetWare 7.0 Disclaimer --------------------------- 7.1 THIS DOCUMENT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.
