In the case of conflict between various parts of the documentation, this file contains the most current information. 1.1. Controller & Utility Software: - Ultra320 SCSI BIOS version: 4.10 - EZ-SCSI version: 6.0 2. Important Ultra320 Issues 2.1. Driver Installation - Refer to the individual readme files associated with each of the operating system drivers for detailed information on installation procedures. - When loading a new driver during a fresh installation of Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP, the operating system will not be able to load the driver directly from the CD. In this case, be sure to create a driver diskette with the disk creation utility provided on this CD. 2.2. System or Technology Compatibility Issues For operating system specific issues and erratas, please refer to the individual readme files associated with each of the operating system drivers for detailed information on installation procedures. - Ultra320 SCSI controller must negotiate slower with a Kingston hard drive enclosure: In order for a Kingston hard drive enclosure to function correctly with an Ultra320 SCSI controller, the negotiation speed in SCSISelect must be set to 10MB/second. - Multi-initiator configurations are supported with Ultra160 and previous generation hard drives: Current generation Ultra320 hard drives do not support this configuration. - Ultra320 hard disk drive support: Adaptec only supports Ultra320 hard drives that have the latest firmware available. Please check with your hard drive manufacturer to ensure you have the latest version. - FMSUTIL Lockup in Windows XP: In a Windows XP system with an NVIDIA video card, the FMSUTIL Driver Disk Creation Utility may lock up. This is a video driver bug that can be fixed by downloading and installing the latest video card drivers from NVIDIA's website. - Attachment of Harddisks via a hotswap backplane is not supported. 3.
