BIOS Version 1.30 - Build FIE130A - Initial release 3.0 Installation and Setup Instructions The procedure to recover the POST/BIOS is as follows: 3.1 Remove AC power from the system. 3.2 Remove the top cover from the system. 3.3 Move the Boot Block jumper (JBBF1) from its original location covering pins 1 and 2 to the recovery position covering pins 2 and 3. Note: The Boot Block jumper is located near the front of the chassis near the white power connector. Boot Block (JBBF1) jumper position for normal operation; jumper covers pins 1 and 2. Front of Chassis ___ [___] | | | 1 2 3 3.4 Insert the "IBM IntelliStation M30 BIOS Crisis Recovery Diskette" into external USB floppy diskette drive A. 3.5 Replace the top cover and reapply AC power to the system. 3.6 The system will boot into a special recovery mode. Note: There may be several minutes of apparent inactivity during this process. 3.7 After the recovery, remove AC power from the system. 3.8 Remove the top cover from the system. 3.9 Move the Boot Block jumper (JBBF1) back its original location for normal operation covering pins 1 and 2. 3.10 Replace the top cover and remove the "IBM IntelliStation M30 System BIOS Crisis Recovery Diskette" from external USB floppy diskette drive A. 3.11 Verify that the DMI/SMBIOS strings are correct for the IBM IntelliStation M30 system.
