When Bios detects rev CG CPU "Memhole Mapping" default will be set to [SW]. When Bios detects rev E CPU "Memhole Mapping" default will be set to [HW]. Benefits of memory hoisting either "software" or Hardware as used on the AMD processor is to re-allocate the memory map to above the 4G region. This allows the system to have access to the full 4G region that would normally be allocated to a device like a PCI adapters. - Fixed false reporting of Dimm's 7 & 8 when a Multiple Bit ECC error occurs on Dimms other than Dimm's 7 and 8. BIOS Version 1.22 - Build M2E122A - Added new micro code to fix AMD errata #131 - Fixed DIMM7/DIMM8 Error LED always on when multi-bit ECC install DIMM1/2 or DIMM3/4 and power on/off 2 times - Fixed system cannot backup BIOS image to USB FDD with phoenix flash utility - Supported AMD BIOS check v2.1.3 BIOS Version 1.21 - Build M2E121A - Corrected an issue where you could not boot to a SCSI Hard Drive attached to a Serve Raid 6M card if the USB Floppy Diskette Drive was not installed. - Corrected an issue which prevented logging of a double bit ECC memory error. - Added new code to fix AMD errata #123 which could cause the system hang. BIOS Version 1.20 - Build M2E120A - Updated new code base for dual core AMD K8 power now function. - Fixed the boot process allowing system to show F1 Setup prompt. - Fixed ECC LED function fail during Runtime. BIOS Version 1.19 - Build M2E119A - Removed F1 message after ROM scan to cover the time delay issue in RSA remote console - Implemented 12.4.3 command to RSA while bad dimm/serr/perr detected - Supported Dual code CPU string. - Fixed AMD errata 1.22. BIOS Version 1.18 - Build M2E118A - Fixed USB CDROM boot failure when USB floppy was not attached. - Updated SATA option ROM to version 4.3.534. BIOS Version 1.16 - Build M2E116A - Added revision E processor support BIOS Version 1.11 - Build M2E111A - Fixed DMI table issues for IPMI drivers - Td enhancement with offset value feedback to BMC - Single bit error (SBE) algorithm updated - BMC FW 1.10 required to enable SBE and Td enhancements BIOS Version 1.10 - Build M2E110A - Enhance PCI error detection - Add IBM RDM support for wake on lan - Corrected display of run-time double bit errors BIOS Version 1.09 - Build M2E109A - Fixed AMD BIOSCheck 1.4.1 issue - Enhanced runtime multibit error logging BIOS Version 1.08 - Build M2E108A - Initial release 3.0 Installation and Setup Instructions The procedure to update the POST/BIOS is as follows: 3.1 Insert the "IBM POST/BIOS Flash Update" media into an external USB drive. 3.2 Start up or restart your IBM system. 3.3 The system will boot off of the update media and automatically update the system BIOS. 3.4 On the first system boot after updating the BIOS, select the Setup Utility with the F1 key; then, select the "Load Default Settings" option. Select the "Save Settings" option, and hit 'y' to save. Then, select "Exit Setup" to exit the utility, and, finally, accept the displayed 'Y' option under "Save and exit the setup utility?" 3.5 If you are updating from a floppy diskette and wish to save your current BIOS to a file, mofify 'autoexec.bat' to include the backup '/bu' parameter. Current system BIOS will be saved to a file named 'BIOS.BAK'. 4.0 Configuration Information 5.0 Unattended Mode 5.1 Steps for unattended mode. 5.1.1 Modify AUTOEXEC.BAT on the Flash Diskette to read: "PHLASH16.EXE /S /MFG flashfil.fls" 5.1.2 Reboot the system with the Flash Diskette in Drive A: 6.0 Web Sites and Support Phone Number 6.1 IBM Support Web Site: http://www.pc.ibm.com/support 6.2 IBM Marketing IntelliStation Web Site: http://www.pc.ibm.com/intellistation 6.3 If you have any questions about this update, or problems applying the update go to the following Help Center World Telephone Numbers URL: http://www.ibm.com/planetwide/. 7.0 Trademarks and Notices THIS DOCUMENT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.
