Follow the prompts to complete the installation *NOTE: This eFix requires administrator privileges to install. eFix IC31369 is installed in two parts. The first half requires the eFix file IC31369.exe to be executed before UM Services or Director Server 2.2 is installed on the IBM Intellistation MPRO 6850. After the first part of the eFix has been successfully applied, UM Services/Director 2.2 should be installed and then UM Services/Director Service Pack 1. Once the system has been rebooted following the installation of UM Services/Director Service Pack 1, eFix IC31369.exe should be applied a second time. If an attempt is made to install UMS Services without first installing eFix IC31369, which will result in a BSOD, the failed installation can be recovered from by installing the two parts of this eFix according to the standard installation instructions. The only exception to the process will be the errors produced during the reboot after the BSOD. The best response to the error windows that appear after the BSOD is to cancel any requested action. Once the eFix has been installed and the system rebooted, normal problem determination and administration methods should be used to resolve any remaining error messages. *NOTE: Both parts of the eFix installation are required. *NOTE: Under certain circumstances the system will not be able to find the device driver platapnp.sys after the reboot that follows the installation of the first part of eFix IC31369. If this should happen, point the window requesting the file to C:\. *NOTE: In rare cases, the following STOP error may be encountered immediately after the installation BSOD: STOP: c000026c {Unable to Load Device Driver} \SystemRoot\System32\DRIVERS\patapnp.sys device driver could not be loaded. Error Status 0x000012f To resolve this STOP error the Windows 2000 operating system should be booted to the Recovery Console. Once logged on, the following command should be entered without quotes at the prompt: "disable platalrt" Once the service has been successfully disabled type "EXIT" without the quotes and press ENTER to reboot the system. When the operating system has started properly, proceed with the installation of the eFix. 4.0 Configuration Information ______________________________________________________________________ 4. 1 This eFix is intended for version 2.2.1 of the configurations listed above in section 3.1 and 3.2.
