During post, press F1 to enter the Setup utility. Highlight "Devices and I/O Ports" and press enter. Highlight "IDE Drives Setup" and press enter. The screen should be as follows: Hard Disk Drive 0 Hard Disk Drive 1 Hard Disk Drive 2 Hard Disk Drive 3 Drive 0 & 1 Prefetch (Disabled) Drive 2 & 3 Prefetch (Disabled) The IDE hardfile Prefetch is set to "Disabled" by default. IDE hardfile performance will be improved by highlighting the setting and changing it to "Enabled." Note that the setting cannot be changed to "Enabled" if there are any other IDE devices (e.g. IDE CDROM or tape drive) attached to the same cable as the hardfile.
