H165424:  NETFINITY 5500: RAID OPTIONAL SCSI CABLE FOR EXTERNAL DEVICE


 SYMPTOM:

 When installing external SCSI devices to the Netfinity 5500, no
 external SCSI port is available to attach the external device
 to the server.

 PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:

 - The system is one of the following IBM servers:

      Netfinity 5500 server Type 8660, any Model.
      Netfinity 5500 M10 server, Type 8661, any Model.

 - The system is NOT configured with an IBM Netfinity SCSI
 Controller Cable, Option  03K9313.

 - The system has the symptom described.

 FIX:

 When installing external devices, order Option 03K9313, IBM
 Netfinity SCSI Controller Cable, to provide a 0.8mm external
 connector for external SCSI devices.  Also order the
 appropriate cable to  connect from the external device to the
 0.8mm external connector.
