 PURPOSE:

 This tip will allow  for the replacement of the system's Planar
 board if the system clock is gaining excessive time.

 PHYSICAL CHECK:

 - The system is a Netfinity 5500 server, Type 8660, any Model.

 - The system's Planar is FRU p/n01K7068.

 - The system clock is gaining excessive time.

 - The system's serial number is in "eca024sn.txt".

 DETAIL:

 There is a limited number of Netfinity 5500 servers that may
 exhibit this problem.

 Use the system serial number list (eca024sn.txt) as a guide to
 determine if this ECA applies to the system.

 NOTE: If the system is gaining time, but the system's serial
 number is not included in "eca024sn.txt" then this ECA should
 not be applied.

 The serial number list file, is available for download from
 the following URL as "eca024sn.txt":

 Replace system board (FRU p/n01K7068) with FRU p/n36L9443 (refer
 to the Hardware Maintenance Manual p/n10L9800 (May 1998)
 page 258 for directions).

 NOTES:

      THIS ECA IS "AS REQUIRED".

      THIS ECA WILL EXPIRE JANUARY 31, 2006.
   US:
     IBM TSS CE's should record 1.5 hours to replace the system
     board and record .8 hours travel.
     Service Code 33 should be used in the US to record
     all parts and time.

   EMEA:
     IBM PSS CE's should record all time and parts to Service
     Code 33, (8660) ECA024, Other Office 990.

     Business Partners should refer to the Warranty Claim System
     for labor and travel; Use Emergency Claim 5 (ECA)
     and enter into CPPS: ECA024, Machine Type 8660.
