IBM(R) Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore(TM) for Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000 and Windows XP patch version 1.00.0033.004 Overview ======== This package installs the IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore patch version 1.00.0033.004 software on your computer. This patch is intended for use only with IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore build 0033, currently available on the World Wide Web, or IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore build 1009, available for purchase on CD-ROM. You must install one of these IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore versions on your computer before you apply this patch. This is the first patch release for IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore. Installation ============ Note: Administrator rights are required to install this package. To install the IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore patch, double-click the ibmrnr_update_101_1004.exe file and follow the instructions on the screen. Standard MSI switches for silent installation are also supported. Execute the file “%RRU%\Uninstall IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore Update 1.01.exe” for example: “C:\Program Files\IBM\IBM Rapid Restore Ultra\Uninstall IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore Update 1.01.exe” Supported systems ================= For specific information about supported systems, refer to the following IBM Web site: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-54947 Issues addressed by this update =============================== · The inability to back up the following file: 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM\Data\master.mdf' · The intermittent interruption of some backup operations. · The inability of some DBCS ID’s to create rescue media or recovery discs. · The closing of the file handle prior to an attempt to examine the data in the file object buffer, resulting in a blue screen. · The buffer overflow occurring when running IBM Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore and Raxco PerfectDisk defrag, resulting in a Blue Screen. · The inability to create a bootable USB HDD with Windows XP Service Pack 2. · The inability to back up locked files if the operating system is installed on a drive other than the C:\ drive. · The inability to exclude files from a backup with Windows XP Service Pack 2. Considerations ============== You must re-create your CD rescue media and/or your USB HDD rescue media after applying this patch.
